No. Gateway. Needed. Ever.

Most smart streetlights or area lights connect to the network via a gateway device. Each gateway is proprietary, has a limited range, and can suffer from interference from things like cell towers. But because Ohli uses the cellular network, Ohli Smart Lighting doesn’t need a gateway (though we also have a LoRaWAN version). You can run Ohli Nodes standalone, or alongside other existing networks such as Echelon and Acuity ROAM.

Installing Ohli Smart Lighting is simple – just plug and play

To install Ohli Smart Lighting just plug the Ohli Node control into the NEMA socket on your luminaire with a twist-lock, and the Ohli Node does the rest. Ohli Node will automatically find and register itself with the Ohli Management System in the cloud, and you can view it from a desktop browser or in your Ohli mobile app on your phone or tablet. No need for RF surveys or barcode scanning, and no involvement needed from your IT department.

Works with all cellular providers and networks

The Ohli Node controller uses a built-in eSIM card which works with multiple cellular providers and multiple networks (2G, 4G, 5G, LTE-M or NB-IoT), out of the box. The cell service and data connectivity fee is built-in. And because Ohli works with all major cellular providers, if service is spotty with one, it will automatically switch to another provider with better coverage in that area.

in addition to the public networks, Ohli Plus has also been certified as capable of running on the Anterix 900 MHz private LTE (PLTE) broadband network.

Secure, cloud-based management and monitoring

Ohli Nodes come with a 5-year CMS license (central management system) based on Dhyan’s StreetMan, and you can manage your lighting network from a desktop browser or the Ohli CMS mobile app. Management, monitoring, cloud hosting, support, maintenance and updates are all included. Ohli Smart Lighting uses TLS/AES to provide end-to-end encryption so it is fully protected from hackers and unwanted third parties.
